A remarkable and real term. I had a similar experience.

Most people are just pathetic ..

Jordan Peterson, as smart as he is (and I enjoyed lots of his analysis of biblical stories), crossed few lines demonstrating either utter stupidity or complicity, starting with vaccine and onto Israel genocide .. that I sort of dropped him. Not that I will not read what he says if it crosses my path, but I am not actively seeking his narratives any more. My tolerance for BS is low, you only get few chances before I don't care about you any more. I guess I do not need a "leader" in my life, more like a sparring partner :)

Excellent observations! I think you’re right. Loyalty is a “virtue,” or so we’ve been programmed. It’s very hard to let go of the self judgment that comes with rejecting someone who, as you say, got into the center of your heart. We’d much rather think of ourselves as a “good person” and if that means being loyal, that’s what we’ll do. I’m watching this happening now on Fb with friends shaming others who are angry at the mayor and newsom. “That’s not helping right now.” Oh really? Shaming people calling out what’s going on is really shaming them for not being a good “loyal” person. It’s exactly what you’re talking about. I think it scares people to see independent thinkers who don’t bend the knee. Who don’t believe in authorities (thru long standing evidence that they don’t work for us). This knee jerk shaming response is exactly what needs to shift. Not the legitimate anger. Of course getting stuck in anger isn’t helpful, but neither is stuffing it down because someone shamed you.

Nanoamnesia - great term - is at epidemic proportions these days.
