I was going to call this post “Die Heart-est”, the logical followup to “Die Heart-er”, but then I realized I wasn’t going to write about the dead heart of amnesia. Instead, I was going to write about the central heart of loyalty.
忠, the Chinese character for ‘loyalty’, is a compound of 中 ‘central' and 心 ‘heart’. Here’s 忠 ‘loyalty’ in Mao Zedong’s hand:
That character is in the name of the 忠字舞 ‘loyalty character dance’:
In the cult of Mao, everyone was expected to perform the loyalty dance—from miners to office workers to toddlers to old ladies whose feet had been bound. "The movements were always toward the sky—that way you could show how respectful you were to Mao," [former party newspaper photographer] Li ]Zhensheng] says.
I don’t know how accurate the linked article is. The lyrics that it quotes for the loyalty character dance song -
No matter how close our parents are to us, they are
not as close as our relationship with Mao
- aren’t in the Mandarin lyrics I’ve found here. Google Translate did a good job with them - I only had to change one word.1
Dear Chairman Mao, the red sun in our hearts,
Dear Chairman Mao, the red sun in our hearts,
We have so many heartfelt words to tell you,
We have so many passionate songs to sing to you,
Tens of millions of red hearts are beating vigorously,
Tens of millions of smiling faces are facing the red sun,
We sincerely wish you a long life, a long life, a long life!
Just tens of millions in a country of 785 million in 1968, when the girl in the Smithsonian Magazine article danced? Lotsa disloyal Chinese!

Fast forward almost sixty years. I don’t see anyone doing loyalty dances to Great Orange God, ♥ANCE, Eeeelon, Prince Bobby, et al.
But loyalty is still a thing. A problem. When you put someone at the center of your heart, you run the risk of what
calls “betrayal blindness”:People block from their awareness the reality of the betrayal. The betrayed often forget the experience, or retell it as if the betrayal was something they wanted when they really had no control and no choice.
So many CONservatives and DUH-siddents (dizzy don’ts?) are nanoamnesiac. They selectively forget betrayals of their alleged principles. Their real principle - their central cord - is loyalty.
They would have danced for Mao.
Mao had Authority™.

What did anti-fake-cine Jordanites I know do when their idol told them to “get the **** vaccine” (hear Kermit say it at 3:09)?
They didn’t “get the **** vaccine”. But they did continue to support him. Because they are loyal for life. Fealty is forever. Once he got into the 中 center of their 心 hearts, he stayed there because of their 忠 loyalty.
Notice how they did not blindly obey him. They follow his every word. They just choose to forget some of them. Nanoamnesia.
They are among the Trump supporters who know about Operation Warp Speed. Which they also chose to forget. Nanoamnesia.
They would not get along with the Duh-ssident Right Jew-haters who see Jooz and Isn’t-Real everywhere. Except in Trump. Even though they share photos like this and criticize Trump for a moment …
… in the long run they choose to forget. Nanoamnesia.
Loyalty fuels selective memory. I am loyal to X. I oppose Y. X does Y. I forget Y. I am loyal to X. On and on the circle goes.
Such circles are everywhere. Synchronicity: As I wrote this article, two TV shows happened to tie into its theme.
After Hawaii News Nausea Now, I failed to turn off my cable, so I ended up with Crime Exposé with Nancy O’Dell on my mind control screen.

This episode was about Michael Beach, a widower so desperate for company that he sought women online - and one moved in and possibly poisoned him. He made her leave … but loyalty trumped memory, and he let her back in. She killed him.
Then I played this episode of Gatchaman Fighter from forty-five years ago today:
「閣下、閣下……」”Kakka, kakka …”
Look at the eyes of the boy. He’s trapped in an authority trance. His mind is stuck on his master, a criminal aristocrat who had just abandoned him.
He was experiencing what
described in her article on betrayal blindness:When a betrayal is discovered or finally faced, a person’s sense of who they think they are often shatters. The betrayed may suddenly see all the early warning signs — which were ignored — and that realization can lead to a cascade of debilitating self doubt and self blame.
“How could I have been so stupid? Why did I allow this to happen?”
I ask myself such questions. Why did I have nanoamnesia about Trump? Why did I fail to face the obvious? I had been criticizing Trump almost nonstop for seven years, yet until last year I turned a blind eye to what may be his biggest flaw.
If I didn’t consider myself loyal to Trump but had long-term nanoamnesia to the point where I almost voted for him as the ‘lesser evil’, imagine how hard - how it is impossible - for those who are Trump loyalists to remember what their Orange Jesus said?
How can I take anyone seriously who goes on about the evil of the vaccine but supports its father?
No cope means no nanoamnesia.
No more loyalty to authority. To parasocial characters whom we only know through their bogus public personas. To actors like Trump:
[…] Donald Trump is a seasoned thespian with multiple acting credits to his name, and even a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His presidential candidacy turn as a "dissident anti-establishment hero fighting for the people" is just another acting role.
I am not loyal to anyone on Substack. I don’t know anyone on Substack. I like what the people I follow write. But I am not obligated to follow them to the end. I got off the Trump train, and I will unsub anyone when they cross certain lines.
I reject blind 忠 loyalty - the 中 central 心 cord (cord is Romanian for ‘heart’).
Cut the cord!
My first footnote on Substack! I wondered how
generated them. Google Translate rendered 剧烈 jùliè as ‘violently’. I think ‘vigorously’ makes more sense here. Cf. 剧烈运动 jùliè yùndòng ‘vigorous exercise’.
A remarkable and real term. I had a similar experience.
Most people are just pathetic ..
Jordan Peterson, as smart as he is (and I enjoyed lots of his analysis of biblical stories), crossed few lines demonstrating either utter stupidity or complicity, starting with vaccine and onto Israel genocide .. that I sort of dropped him. Not that I will not read what he says if it crosses my path, but I am not actively seeking his narratives any more. My tolerance for BS is low, you only get few chances before I don't care about you any more. I guess I do not need a "leader" in my life, more like a sparring partner :)
