I relate, I ‘woke up’ after 9/11 and have been wandering around the 2nd matrix for 20 years. Even recognizing that America wasn’t the good guys left me in confused (I thought I was clear headed at the time) state. My anger alienated me from others and to be honest adhering to principles made my life harder and yet I don’t think I’ve made much of difference in that ‘critical mass of awakening’ conspiracy theorists were chasing like a holy grail. What I realized eventually was that this is a spiritual journey and if you do not abide by any religion to tell you (right or wrong) what is the correct path, it is life long challenge to enlighten yourself while hopefully not gumming up other peoples paths. I would probably be classified as a black pilled cynic by the majority of the online community but recognizing the entropy happening around us doesn’t preclude me from meaning or enjoyment in life. I have been trying to find a balance between acceptance of the world as it is while cherishing life as a gift and being a part of what makes life a gift for others rather than a part of what makes people disdain life. It’s not easy. Keep up the Sanskrit, creativity is a lifeline to the gods.

Thank you!

It's ironic - I get more appreciation from people I don't know here than from people who do know me elsewhere. The latter don't really want to know what I think. Because I'm not an Authority, I don't belong to the One True Religion, etc. I have a lot of minuses in the outside world - which are pluses to a few here.

I work as a gardener so I won't be compromised or compelled by substack. I think a great deal of the Covid resistance was internally directed outward not the other way around but the info did help at the time. Not sure how much now. I just wanna share what I think is good. Permaculture, anarchism, music, life-hacks and humour.

The rest can do what it does.

Could you explain what you mean by "internally directed outward"? Who was directing the CONvid resistance toward whom?

I had some drinks when I wrote that. Ha. I meant we were suss but still looking for experts outside ourselves. Outside our inner or gut feeling. Now I just look inside for the confirmation

Thanks for explaining!

"looking for experts outsid ourselves": I may write one day about when I hit rock bottom trying to satisfy my Kommand Kraving, my need to be told what to do, That was almost thirty years ago. I've gotten better - much better in the last year alone.

"Now I just look inside for the confirmation": You just made me realize we've been trained all our lives to distrust ourselves. So most of us never even start on the path to exploring on our own.

A minority does somehow take that path, and I'm grateful to encounter those Stalkers of truth here. We don't have the same answers, but that's okay. I just appreciate the shared spirit of inquiry. So refreshing when the majority just wants 'The Answer' from their favorite Kommander..

It's sooo good to find inquiring minds especially those open to being wrong. It's how we learn.

Nice to see a trace of me here - thanks. I have never really blogged but I did go through a Neo-Con phase - long story - and a longer phase of academic leftism (referred to in my handle which I have used for 20+ years). And I have read Rurik at Slavlands closely for 3 years and more - back when he was Rolo. How about that for a common nexus?!

I will bookmark and read closely; today there is a snowstorm to enjoy - first for couple of years here - near the belly of the beast - NYCity area.

Is part of your story Andrew Sullivan -? - King of the post 9/11 neocons and war mongers. Indeed quite a first mover blogger-wise. Pre 9/11 a "blog" was pure tech guy talk weB - LOG - (get it? = BLOG) mostly high level tech talk - some guys transitioned into more personal space - Sullivan was one of the the first to take it into the current events space - InstaPundit was another. Both are still out there - not sure how their neocon affiliations have evolved.
