Dethwaves!
In praise of the prophetic power of Hawaii's Gov. Dr. Josh "Body Bags" Green, MDeeee (The One Party)
Who remembers The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults?
The Mystery of Al Capone's Vaults is a two-hour live American television special that was broadcast in syndication on April 21, 1986, and hosted by Geraldo Rivera. It centered on the live opening of a walled-off underground room in the Lexington Hotel in Chicago once owned by crime lord Al Capone, which turned out to be empty except for debris. Thirty million viewers watched, making it the highest rated syndicated special in history.
… and I was one of those thirty million.
I was a sucker.
I fell for 9/11 (even though I didn’t buy into the official JFK story). Ignoring my antiwar instincts, I became a neoCON warblogger.
I even initially fell for the dethplague. As a Japanophile, I had long assumed masks worked, but in early 2020 - before they were mandated - I learned otherwise, and I’ve been breathing freely since. Without ever getting sick.
Without ever falling for the antics of Hawaii’s Gov. Dr. Josh Green, MDeeee (The One Party), who predicted “body bags” …
… until today, when the great prophet warned us about dethwaves:
God willing, these [tsunami] waves will not hurt us. But you have to assume, assume, they will be life threatening.
You must stay off the beaches and away from harbors, rivers and low-lying areas. If you stay on beaches you could risk death.
In my duh-fense, I suspected something was weird when the ‘news’ said waves in Japan - closer to the epicenter of the Russian earthquake triggering the tsunami - were lower than the waves predicted to hit Hawaii, which is of course farther from Russia.

A Pravda commenter compiled this list of observed wave heights from locations closer to the epicenter - all around one foot (about 30 cm):
Hanasaki, Hokkaido — 1.0 ft.
Kushiro, Hokkaido — 1.1 ft
Amchitka Alaska 0.8ft
Atka Alaska 1.0ft
Adak Alaska 0.9ft
Nikolski Alaska 0.9ft
Unalaska Alaska 0.8ft
Saint Paul Alaska 0.4ft
King Cove Alaska 0.0ft
Kushiro Japan 1.1ft
Abashiri Japan 0.8ft
Midway Island UM 1.0ft
I’d expect waves to weaken over time and space. But I don’t know how tsunamis work. As Gov. Body Bags said,
We should be safe, and therefore not sorry.
And I’ve survived a natural disaster. I’ve seen what the sea can do.
So I sat through nine hours of Hawaii News Now Nausea coverage.
Haven’t wasted so much of my time on propaganda since 9/11 when I believed CNN, Fox, etc.
And I listened to the radio when I was outside. I heard that there were 17 traffic accidents between 3 and 4 PM as people tried to evacuate.

A Pravda commenter wrote,
getting out of the [state government] parking garage took 1 hour.
Another commenter wrote,
nothing moving. An ambulance was trying to get through and could not.
Did a patient needlessly suffer? Every minute stuck in traffic might count.
Maybe this wasn’t the first time:
At major tsunami warning years ago resulted in total panic. Traffic came to a complete standstill. The result? A 6 inch tsunami. People in Hawaii scare easily. Just like with the fake missile alert. So many Crazies on this island.
I don’t remember that. Maybe I was off the island. I wasn’t here for the fake missile alert either.
But I can say I was here for the first wave that was due to strike at 19:10.
Nothing happened.
As the night went on, Hawaii Nausea tried their ‘best’ to dig up Rilly Scary Footage. Like a reporter at a shoreline parking lot where cars were moving about even though the coasts were supposed to have been evacuated. That daredevil revealed that the parking lot had been “flooded” for … “five or six minutes”. And the water was … “ankle height” for those terrifying three hundred-plus seconds.
That’s armageddon, folks.
That must be Noah standing atop his ark!
Here’s a real disaster. For some reason this unrelated died-suddenly clip from InvestigateTV+ is under a dethwave headline at Hawaii Nausea.
The Hawaii Nausea staff got defensive on the air, complaining about “armchair quarterbacks” and admitting weather prediction is a “very young science”. You can guess how I felt about a Jerry Stiller lookalike scientist talking about “the science”.
Some of the Pravda commenters had a field day with this fiasco: e.g.,
After the first insignificant little tsunami waves hit Hawaii after 7pm, any subsequent waves to hit will be of decreasing amplitude as the energy released by the Russia quake causing the tsunami wave was finite. Places like Japan that are much closer to the epicenter of the Russia quake reported similar puny waves that are not life threatening. Stop the wall to wall local news media coverage of the tsunami and stop talking about the 1946 or 1960 Hilo tsunami waves that caused deaths to try to scare people and keep viewers watching their tsunami coverage.
[….]
Seems the chicken little situation of not properly ramping down after the tsunami threat would be minor was overcompensation with the total failure in Maui emergency management and [Maui Emergency Management Agency Administrator] Andaya in the Lahaina fire disaster. Better safe than sorry attitude was taken but also for political reasons to not give any opponent to say the governor or mayor was too quick and premature in ramping down the alert level
Governor Green, here’s a suggestion of how you make an announcement without all the fearmongering and drahhmma.:
An 8.0 earthquake in Alaska may have triggered a tsunami. Readings so far indicate a tsunami of unknown magnitude has been generated. Out of an abundance of caution, I have ordered that all areas in the Tsunami Inundation Zone be evacuated until we can determine the extent of this potential threat which we are taking seriously. That’s it.
No talk of “We are still expecting a big wave.” “the expected wave will be a wall of water with much force able to move cars, trees, power poles and other large things,” “It’s a different beast altogether. It is not a just a 3-foot wave. It is a forceful wall of water that will move across the shoreline into the community…” Stop the fearmongering. Next time, people won’t take you seriously at the exact time when they should.
At this point to wait another 6 or 8 hours to issue the "all clear" [still not issued as of this writing] will be a continuation of that hyperbole imo, and officials risk the possibility that a major catastrophe on the way in years to come will be ignored by many of those who remember what happened this time.
This is fear mongering taken to the next level. Just delirious.
Man, the talking heads are milking this for all it's worth.
It was pathetic to see ‘news’ people struggle to pretend the nonexistent danger had not yet passed as midnight approached. Did they get the ratings they wanted? More viewers than regular (mind) programming?
Did Gov. Dr. Josh “Body Bags” Green, MDeeee (The One Party), enjoy playing savior again?
Didn’t know the gov is also a tsunami expert.
He’s a lockdown expert

At what point can we just accept the fact that these people are incompetent.
At what point can we just accept the fact that we (not me, but the majority) keep voting these incompetent people into office?
And the fact that our ‘models’ are wrong?
Better fix your models and while you're at it fix your climate change models that have consistently been wrong as well.
Lest you think the average intelligence of Pravda commenters somehow went up since the last time I quoted it, I leave you with these gems:
9.5 [earthquake] due tomorrow, when rest of the of the subduction zone slips and don't count on chump to come to our aid with FEMA!
From the same person:
Seems Putin will have a major distraction on his war, if the damage and death is catastrophic.
Even the pro-Navalny guy I quote in my update at the bottom mentions no deaths.
What are the odds that writer is still wearing a mask? Alone and indoors? After having been ‘tested positive’ for CONvid - after having been injected more than once?
Russia deserves to be hit twice.
Fortunately, no one upvoted that. Russophobia has never taken root here. Not because my neighbors are sane but because they’re ignorant. Russia might as well be on another planet. No wonder I’ve heard nothing about the situation there.
Update: I found what little Pravda had to say about Russia, presented here minus repetition:
The earthquake that rocked Russia generated a tsunami of up to 13 feet, prompting evacuations and led to damaged buildings.
“Today’s earthquake was serious and the strongest in decades of tremors,” Kamchatka Gov. Vladimir Solodov said in a video posted on the Telegram messaging app. He added that according to preliminary information there were no injuries, but a kindergarten was damaged.
[…]
The U.S. Geological Survey has revised the earthquake to a magnitude of 8.8 that rocked Russia.
The earthquake off the Kamchatka Peninsula on Wednesday was the strongest since 1952 and triggered dangerous tsunami waves along the coast, the Kamchatka branch of the Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences said.
“Given the scale of this event, we should expect strong aftershocks, possibly with magnitudes up to 7.5,” the Service said in a statement on the Telegram messaging app.
Nothing about the aftershocks in the subsequent eleven hours.
And this is all Pravda showed of the damage - the kindergarten mentioned above.
Didn’t expect to see Ukrainian flag colors (albeit upside down) at the eastern edge of Russia.
Went to Yandex, looked up the top search term for Kamchatka (“камчатка землетрясение” = ‘kamchatka earthquake’), and opened the first YouTube video (only the first minute and a half is about the quake):
Warning: the newsreader is a Navalny supporter (but I don’t see any Navalny content in the earthquake segment).

That footage is scarier than anything here. In theory Hawaii Nausea could have used such footage - and the one death in Japan - to terrify us into thinking we’re next. But no. Which is why I cited Geraldo Rivera at the beginning. Viewers like me were just strung along with the possibility of Something Big, not any actual precedents. The absence of reporting about mass destruction in Russia and Japan should have been a red flag. But I failed to see it. I’m still learning.
Some unrelated questions on the 9/11 topic:
1. Did you see the live broadcast? Where were you when you saw it?
2. In your opinion, which theory best describes how the towers failed?
I was at high school. We all watched it live as a class and were let out early afterwards.
Glad you're safe. Even if the TV is full of absolute shit.
